Strep throat cases increasing
Guam - The Department of Public Health has also seen an increase in reported cases of strep throat. A total of 19 cases have been reported since the start of the New Year. Despite reports of a spike in cases of rheumatic fever, Public Health clarifies that information cannot be verified because cases have of the illness have not been reported on a regular basis.
Strep throat infections if not treated can lead to rheumatic fever. It most commonly occurs in children between the ages of 3 to 15.
