Bill prohibits riding in the back of trucks
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Saying pickup truck beds were meant to transport cargo, not people, Senator Mana Silva Taijeron introduced Bill 60 today. The legislation, if passed, would make it illegal to ride in the back of a pickup truck. The freshman senator says recent events are proof of the dangers of riding in the bed of a pickup.
A teenager sustained life-threatening injuries after he was thrown from the back of a truck in which he was riding. The measure also seeks to impose a $100 per passenger fine for those caught if the bill is passed into law.
