Freshmen proposed modified primary ballot
Guam - Freshmen senators Chris Duenas and Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. have introduced legislation that changes ballot for the primary election. Bill 54 would mandate the separation of local and federal elective offices. It would also mandate the GEC adopt the same policy and procedures for local office absentee ballots as required under the Uniform and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, as amended by the MOVE Act.
The Justice Department took the Guam Election Commission to court in the last election after failing to comply with the MOVE Act deadline for sending out the ballots for the delegate election.
