Guam - The Calvo-Tenorio administration is leading by example - identifying and implementing ways to cut costs in light of the government's current financial crisis. Deputy press secretary Phil Leon Guerrero says the Administration is reviewing the staffing patterns to see which positions at Adelup don't need to be filled.

"At our Communications Office, we don't have a receptionist so we're just answering phones ourselves. It's not a big deal but in the long run that's $40,000 in personnel that we're not filling. Printing has been cut down tremendously we're trying to make sure that if it can be reviewed digitally or transmitted digitally it is."

Staff at Adelup are also urged to conserve power by turning off lights and air conditioners in offices that aren't in use. Leon Guerrero adds resources are only being expended as deemed necessary.
