Guam - While the Guam Memorial Hospital waits to receive its orders for the drug Duramorph, the Guam Hospital Development Foundation has extended a helping hand. Foundation chairman Peter Sgro tells KUAM News that 20 vials of the drug used while performing epidurals came in this morning from Saipan. He says an individual from the Saipan Medical Referral Office hand-carried the medication.

The Saipan hospital had additional inventory of this particular medication. Sgro says the Foundation will replenish those vials from Saipan by purchasing some from the mainland. He says the Foundation's mission is to work with GMH to ensure much needed services are provided to patients on island.

GMH spokesman Connor Murphy says the hospital recieved five additional vials of Duramorph from Naval Hospital this afternoon.
