Guam - A brown tree snake is to blame for Tamuning residents being left in the dark just after midnight. Guam Power Authority spokesperson Art Perez confirms a snake tripped off breakers at the Tamuning Substation, causing the two-hour outage.
"The breakers worked they were able to isolate. Our dispatchers were able to reroute power from other circuits so we could restore power and trouble shooters also found a damaged lightning arrestor. It's a piece of hardware equipment, one of the power poles had to be replaced. It took a while to replace that," he said.
Perez adds power was restored approximately two hours later.
