Guam - The potential closure of F.Q. Sanchez Elementary School will be among several items discussed when the Guam Education Board meets on Monday morning. Last week board members met with stakeholders at the Umatac campus listening to their opposition to the closure of the facility, which could result in saving the Department of Education $140,000 a year.
If the board approves the closure, as was recommended in a 2009 management audit, students would be sent to Merizo ElementarySchool. The board is also expected to discuss DOE's Comprehensive Corrective Action Plan as well as review a report on the proposed re-districting efforts for George Washington High School.
The board is scheduled to meet on Monday at 8:30 in the morning at Untalan Middle School.
