Guam - Special Olympics Guam held its First Annual Golf Exhibition at the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course. This was the first time the sport was offered to the athletes who trained for 8 weeks leading up to the event. Before taking to the course all the competitors got a chance at tuning up their golf game with the help of some of the island's golf pros and coaches. The athletes were taught the basics swing mechanics and fundamentals of the game.
The exhibition was played through 9 holes of golf as the event provided a new sport to the Special Olympics Guam Program. The exhibition reinforces the commitment of exposing and promoting other sports to our Special Olympics athletes.
