Guam - The Simpkins family that owns the Guam Memorial Park, Guam Memorial Life Plan and the Guam Memorial Funeral Home presented a $10,000 check today to the Guam Healthcare and Hospital Development Foundation. The money is to be used to fund cancer related community outreach and education programs.

The donation was made in honor of the late Robert Simpkins, Sr., who passed away from cancer almost two decades ago.

According to research by the University of Guam Cancer Research Center, every week four men and three women on Guam are diagnosed with some form of cancer.
