Who really is on the GEC's board?
Guam - The Subcommittee on Complaints will be forwarding information to the Attorney General's Office based on suspicion of fraud of at least two precincts, and the Guam Election Commission may be subpoenaing precinct officials that have refused to come in for interviews. But that announcement was overshadowed by the revelation that nobody really knows who is on the GEC's board of directors.
Even before the reconvened meeting began shortly after 4pm Wednesday afternoon, there was tension in the air - a flier entitled 'The 2010 Non-Election' was circulated and at least one audience member held up a sign that read 'It's The Voters' Fault' quoting Martha Ruth at the last meeting that took place on December 10. Ruth that day was referring to voters who had voted at the wrong precinct or who had submitted incomplete registration applications, and therefore had not had their votes counted.
Board member Josh Tenorio requested clarification on the expiration of the terms of the board members, a query GEC executive director John Blas could not answer. So it's still not clear whether all the presumed board members are actually still board members - particularly Ruth and member Joe Mesa. The board will reconvene on Wednesday December 22.
