by Nick Delgado
Guam - Former assistant commissioner of Tamuning Maria San Nicolas Leon Guerrero passed away Tuesday. Leon Guerrero served as the assistant commissioner of the village from 1969-1977. Her granddaughter, Melissa Duenas, described her as the type of person to never say no, adding that she always made an impact on everyone she met.
Tamuning vice-mayor Louise Rivera says Leon Guerrero was a wonderful person and was always active in the community even after her term ended. Rosaries will be held nightly at 6pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tamuning. A state funeral will also be held at the Guam Legislature on November 17 at 8am followed by a public viewing at St. Anthony's at 9:30am.
