Guam - Committee oversight chair on law enforcement Senator Adolpho Palacios is urging the Bureau of Budget & Management Research to deny the Guam Police Department's request to hire a police commander and a police major.  Palacios states that GPD's intent to fill those two vacancies comes at a time when the department is struggling to pay overtime to its officers, vendors and headquarters lease.

Palacios also argues BBMR to defer filling the vacancies as a courtesy to the incoming chief of police, and that the request be withheld until the next administration.
