Guam - The Guam Police Department may not have money to pay overtime to its officers or to implement the 10% raises law, but apparently they're looking to fill two vacancies.  Acting Police Chief Major Ricardo Leon Guerrero confirms he sent a request to the Department of Administration to begin accepting applications for one major and police commander positions.

The latter is the highest ranking officer in the police department. "It's gonna be open and those that are interested and qualify of course it's gonna go through the merit system," Leon Guerrero said.  "Whatever major applies and gets it [sic]. If a police commander is chosen outside the department, eventually we're going to have to another major opening."

Leon Guerrero confirms the department must first identify if there is funding for the two positions.
