Bill nixes polygraph exam for police chief
Guam - Legislation has been introduced that evidently removes the requirement for an individual appointed to the chief of police position to submit to and pass a polygraph examination. Bill 466 was introduced by chairman of the Legislative Committee on Public Safety, Senator Adolpho Palacios (D).
The bill states that the investigation process into the appointee may include the use of a polygraph exam. It also includes a new provision that stipulates that the chief of police appointee have no misdemeanor conviction involving moral turpitude.
