Guam - The performance management contract for Cabras Power Plants I and II is expected to produce operational and fuel cost savings that will eventually be passed on to ratepayers.  Today the Guam Power Authority and Taiwan Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services signed a contract for the operations and maintenance of the twin steam engine baseload units.

GPA General Manager Joaquin Flores says TEMES will also be responsible for capital and plant improvement projects, employee training as well as plant facility maintenance for the baseload units.

The contract is for five years with the option to renew.
