Guam - A Navy man accused of slashing his girlfriend's neck pleaded not guilty in the Superior Court of Guam today.  Bernard Jennings was charged with attempted murder, family violence and possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

During an arraignment hearing this afternoon, Jennings waived his rights to a speedy trial and sought a jury of 12.  A criminal trial setting is scheduled for October 19 before Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena.

The female victim was treated at Naval Hospital and has since been released.
