Palacios concerned over GPD reorganization
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Law enforcement oversight chairperson Senator Adolpho Palacios wants answers about the proposed revised organizational chart for the Guam Police Department. Palacios sent his concerns to the Governor's Office, alleging that the proposed reorganization did not go through the administrative adjudication provisions of the Open Government Law.
KUAM News has learned that the changes would establish a homeland security division directly under the chief of police. Palacios is concerned that the new chart will result in a reorganization of the department that would alter the work arrangement and work environment of GPD's staff and personnel.
In the meantime, governor's legal counsel Ray Haddock says the matter is currently under review.
