ESGR Week wraps with Tumon luncheon
A luncheon was held at The Marriott, as the organization promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve members and their civilian employers.
Guam - Today marked the end of Guam Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week. A luncheon was held at The Marriott, as the organization promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve members and their civilian employers. The ESGR helps private businesses understand and be aware of USERRA, a law which establishes certain rights and benefits for employees, and duties for employers.
USERRA affects employment, reemployment, and retention in employment, when employees serve or have served in the uniformed service.
Guam ESGR's Benny Paulino told KUAM News, "It encourages an all volunteer Army and so far it's a pretty good law. For the most part, our employers are not aware of this law and afterwards they become more knowledgeable of what they can do and the things they need to be careful of."
