Governor gets nutritional assistance funding

Guam - Governor Felix Camacho was presented a check today by Allen Ng, regional administrator for the Food and Nutrition Service Western Region, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services has been awarded a monetary bonus in the amount of $173,528.

The USDA awards monetary bonuses to states and territories for exceptional nutrition assistance in the administration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as the Food Stamps Program). Guam was recognized as one of the nation's "Most Improved Payment Accuracy Rates" for Fiscal Year 2009.
