Fire forces evacuation of Social Security Office

Guam - The Social Security Office in Harmon was evacuated this morning after smoke spread throughout the building. Guam Fire Department Spokesperson Joey San Nicolas says the call was made at 8:15am about the incident.

He says preliminary reports show that the cause of the fire may be electrical in nature, as he says smoke came from the fan motor of an air conditioning unit.

No injuries were reported and the extent of damages are still being assessed.
