Free screenings, tests at Dededo health fair
Guam - The 4th Annual Healthy Lifestyles for Healthy Generations Fair was held today at the Micronesia Mall in Dededo. Department of Public Health Program Coordinator Lawrence Alam says they're celebrating Cholesterol Education Month.
In an effort to educate the public about living healthy lifestyles, various divisions at Public Health were handing out pamphlets about the programs they offer.
In addition, Alam says free screenings were provided to the public. "Right now, we're offering tests of your Body Mass , which lets you know if you're overweight or obese. We have blood pressure to test if you're hypertense and our total cholesterol and blood sugar testing. We have our health counselors here just in case there's something wrong with you, you need some health counseling, our health counselors are here to teach you what you want to know," Alam explained.
He encourages residents to take advantage of these free services offered every year.
