Guam - With a certification of emergency issued by Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Bretania Underwood, the Guam Education Policy Board will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow night to discuss the Department of Education's financial condition. On Wednesday the Governor's Office submitted the application for the $20 million that Guam is eligible for from the Education Job Fund.

DOE hopes to use that money with the Fiscal Year 2011 budget to avoid closing down schools as they say the agency needs $8 million to prevent a shutdown.

The board meets at 6pm tonight.
