Guam - Justices rule that officers should be compensated for any hours worked after regular 40 hours. The government's practice of paying law enforcement officers overtime until after working 43 hours a week could change, after the Supreme Court of Guam today issued a decision involving overtime pay for customs officers. The issue presented to the court was whether law enforcement officers are due compensation at 1.5 times their regular rate of pay after 40 hours, or after 43 hours.
The court agreed with the Customs officers' attorney, Daniel Sommerfleck, that officers were entitled OT after 40 hours.
