New law lets gov appoint 3 GEPB members
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Starting in January the new governor of Guam will have the authority to appoint three members to the Guam Education Policy Board. Governor Felix Camacho signed Bill 1424 into law, creating a new hybrid board comprised of three appointed and six elected members.
The election for the additional six seats however is not mandated to occur until the general election in 2012. The new it further addresses the removal of board members by consensus rather than by referendum.
