by Dave Delgado
Guam - Ryan Guy played soccer at the University of San Diego where in four years there he was awarded First Team All-West Coast Conference and 2nd Team-NSCAA All-West Region honors. He also secured a small place in his school's history for most career assists with 24.
From USD, Ryan was chosen for the MLS Combine, which gives about 50 players the chance to play in front of all of the MLS coaches in order to fight for a position in the MLS draft. After scoring a goal in one of the three games that he played Ryan was picked 22nd overall (2nd round) in the 2007 MLS draft by F.C. Dallas.
Ryan currently plays on the St. Patrick's Athletic Team in Dublin, Ireland where he was recently able to play against Manchester United and was seen on national TV doing a front flip throw in. His days are busy but the daily grind of being a professional athlete is something he wanted since he was a child.
