Guam - A team of California-based heart surgeons continued rounds of consultations today at the Guam Memorial Hospital as part of a program that has provided advanced cardiac procedures on Guam for half a decade.  Dr. Dat Do is part of that team, and this morning performed a cardiac catheterization, in which a catheter is inserted and guided into the heart, where a picture is taken to determine whether the patient has coronary artery disease.

"If you have a big operation, you want to have family around," he explained.  "It's much more difficult to send people to another place when their family may or may not be able to come with them."

The doctors will return in September and October to perform more procedures.
