Guam - As the We Are Guahan organization continues its review of the Final Environmental Impact Statement on the military buildup, they've found that the Department of Defense has admitted in the document that there is in fact enough land on their existing footprint to accommodate the firing ranges they plan on setting up at Pagat.
Currently the DoD already controls over 30,000 acres of Guam (roughly one-third of the island). The Final EIS notes the firing range at Pagat actually consists of five separate ranges. The federal government, however, admits there's enough land on four DoD sites in the inventory to build four out of the five ranges.
Those ranges are located at Finegayan, Tarague, Orote Point and Northwest Field.
