Guam - Lawmakers during a legislative session this morning added Bill 444 to the agenda and passed it. The legislation, introduced by Senator Ben Pangelinan, provides the $200,000 needed by the Department of Education to pay its promissory note with the Guam Power Authority.

GPA is threatening to pull the plug on DOE by the end of today if it doesn't make good on the payment. The bill now heads to the Governor's Office for review. The vote on Bill 444 was 14 'yes' and 1 excused absence.
