Guam - The Department of Education Central Office has received some major concern about the last-minute decision from the George Washington High School's administration to hold a block schedule for this school year. Some teachers at the Mangilao campus raised red flags over a school board policy that states majority of the teachers assigned to the school may vote to modify instructional time for innovative scheduling, and that they were not notified of the change.
However, DOE Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Underwood says she received written documentation from the principal that the GW staff agreed to the block schedule. Underwood adds that this would allow the students more time in each class.
