Guam - Representatives from Rico's Construction met with the Guam Power Authority's Safety Division today to determine just what happened when a staffer from the company fell 20 feet - narrowly missing two transmission lines - while doing gutter work at the Cabras Power Plant yesterday in Piti.  GPA Spokesperson Art Perez says they'll conduct interviews with the contractor to find out what equipment was used and if they were following the required safety guidelines.

"If the vendor does not adhere," he stressed, "it places them at risk for securing anymore future GPA contracts.  Because if they're not following any safety guidelines it places their employees and also GPA employees at risk."

Perez added that it's now the contractor's responsibility to forward the incident to OSHA.
