Guam - While Liberation Day is on Wednesday, the island community gathered for a mass at the Cathedral Basilica this morning. For the past several weeks, the Mayor's Council of Guam held various events to commemorate Guam 66th Liberation Day to honor and pay homage to those who suffered under the Japanese occupation of Guam.

Hundreds of Chamorros were forced to work under the Japanese until the United States liberated our island.

In the meantime, the Liberation Day Parade is scheduled for this Wednesday along Marine Corps Drive.
