Guam - To allow more people to come in and testify the Committee on Health is holding another public hearing on the Compassionate Health Care Act of 2010 this week. Bill 423 introduced by Senator Rory Respicio proposes to legalize the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes only. It would also create centers were the drug would be distributed.

During last week's public hearing only one person testified. Representing the Guam Employers Council, executive director Andrew Andrus testified against the legislation stating the organization in resolute opposition to the bill, Andrus told the committee marijuana has long been considered a detriment to work place safety and society in general.

This week's public hearing on Bill 423 is scheduled for July 22 at 5pm at the Legislature.
