Guam, NMI officials attend solemn ceremony

Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, Governor Felix Camacho and CNMI Congressman Kilili Sablan were at a wreath laying ceremony today to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the liberation of Guam and the battle for the Northern Marianas.

Guam - Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, Governor Felix Camacho and CNMI Congressman Kilili Sablan were at a wreath laying ceremony today to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the liberation of Guam and the battle for the Northern Marianas. The ceremony took place at the Tomb of the Unknowns at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, and is part of several annual commemorative events in Washington, DC to honor Chamorros who endured 32 months of enemy occupation during World War II

Congresswoman Bordallo said today, "This year is the 66th anniversary of the liberation of Guam, and it is important that our community continues to honor their courage, remember their sacrifices, and appreciate the freedom that we enjoy today.
