Guam - A civil suit has been filed against the Guam International Airport Authority by an airport police officer. Citadel Sablan alleges unlawful discrimination at her place of employment.
According to court documents, Sablan contends that on December 13, 2008 a supervisor informed her that she could not perform a transport of a male arrestee. Sablan alleges that she has been discriminated against because she does not enjoy the same employment conditions as male employees of the airport.
She took the matter up with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which found sufficient evidence to establish a violation of the Civil Rights Act.
GIAA has denied the allegations.
