Guam - There's not much progress in a civil suit KUAM filed against the Guam Police Department. Superior Court Judge Vern Perez held a status hearing today in hopes to set a definitive hearing schedule.
The Attorney General's Office argues the court needs to determine a few things before the case can proceed. Assistant AG Rob Weinberg has argued that the Privacy Protection Act of 1980 does not apply to Guam and he also believes KUAM isn't the rightful owner of a document that was seized by police during a raid back in May.
The judge ordered the parties to continue discussions and put together a scheduling order by July 14.
