GMH campaign urges patient involvement
Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital has implemented several new initiatives as part of the national "Speak Up" patient safety campaign. The campaign urges patients to become more informed and involved in their health care with the goal of improve patient safety and communication. Patients and visitors at GMH will hear short overhead announcements throughout the day, accompanied by posters and brochures in the hospital.
Patients are also urged to participate in hospital safety measures such as making sure nurses verify their identity twice before giving any medication or by ensuring the site of any surgery is marked.
