Guam - There's some good news for the Port Authority of Guam as the House of Representatives today passed H.R. 48-99, the Supplemental Appropriations Act. The measure authorizes the Department of Defense to transfer $50 million for the agency's modernization.

This effort was pushed by both Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo and President Barack Obama.  Port officials were waiting for this funding in order to pursue an additional $50 million loan from the USDA for the Port's improvements.
