Guam - The Legislative Committee on Education will accept public testimony tonight on a bill that would change the makeup of the Guam Education Policy Board.  Instead of being elected, Bill 424 seeks to make the board members appointed by the governor and approved by the Legislature.

The legislation aims to give the board more authority over the operations of the school system.  Board chairman Ron Ayuyu says he doesn't think the bill is necessary, as an appointed board didn't work in the past.

The public hearing will be held at the Legislative Public Hearing Room at 6:30 tonight.
