Port drilling down infusion of funds
The Port Authority of Guam will be providing an informational briefing on its efforts to secure grants and similar funding as they attempt to move forward with modernization efforts.

Guam - The Port Authority of Guam will be providing an informational briefing on its efforts to secure grants and similar funding as they attempt to move forward with modernization efforts. The agency is expecting a $50 million appropriation from the Department of Defense matched with a $54.5 million loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Port officials are also working to identify other funding mechanisms to implement the modernization plan necessary for the impending military buildup. The briefing is scheduled for tomorrow evening beginning at 6pm at the Guam Legislature's Public Hearing Room.
