Guam - U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 will honor Vicenta Chargualaf Peredo with a ceremony tomorrow at Veterans Cemetery in Piti. Peredo was born in 1934 in the village of Yona. She was affectionately called "Seabee Betty" by servicemembers and civilians.

She became a surrogate mother and friend to thousands of Seabees deployed to Guam in the 1950s when she began reaching out to military construction engineers until her death in 2003. The ceremony will be held at 9am.
