Mobil helps islanders dispose of recyclables
Guam - The community was invited to participate in the Simple Tasks Aimed at Reducing Trash Recycling event by bringing their recyclable materials to the Mobil Gas Station in Tamuning today. Aluminum cans, Type 1 & 2 plastic bottles and cardboard were accepted at the event by START volunteers and partners such as iRecycle, Pyramid International and Dewitt Moving and Storage.
Mobil Sales Services and Project Manager Bill Ada told KUAM News, "We reached out to the First Lady to see how we can get involved and take initiative for getting actively involved with recycling, so the simple task aimed at reducing trash is something simple that we wanted to get involved in. And so when we reached out to the First Lady, she said, 'Hey, why don't we start something with the stations, being that they're located all throughout the island?'"
The event was held to assist the community in addressing the increasing concern of trash disposal on Guam and to encourage residents to keep the environment clean.
