Guam - Acting Governor Mike Cruz says he will leave it up to the Guam EPA board to decide the fate of the agency's administrator, Lorilee Crisostomo.  Senator Rory Respicio sent a letter to Cruz earlier this week asking he immediately have her replaced.

The Democrat senator cited the illegal dump fire in Yigo, the agency's silence during the Draft Environmental Impact Statement process, as well as a federal report citing financial mismanagement demonstrates Crisostomo's lack of leadership.

Cruz says he has had discussion with Senator Respicio, as well as board chairman George Lai.  He said, "She went through a very grueling process at the oversight hearing...it's clear that there are a lot of concerns not just from Rory Respicio, but from the mayor and certainly private citizens, so I will respect the process that we have in place as far as the board."

The Guam EPA board is scheduled to meet on June 7.
