Guam - Acting Governor Mike Cruz called together a host of government agencies in an effort to focus attention on the progress of the Guam census. Representatives of the island's government, including the Department of Education, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Public Health all made an appearance to demonstrate the need for an accurate capture of the community's demographics.

Census Advisor Justin McLaughlin tells KUAM News they are not getting the public compliance the office hoped for, attributing the lack of cooperation in part to the length of the form, which is reported to take about and hour to complete. He says the census is below a 100% compliance rate, but could not reveal how far below the Guam Census is falling.

Acting Governor Cruz made a plea for all citizens to take part in the census in order to ensure adequate federal funding for Guam's government.
