Guam - An oversight hearing is being held today with the Guam Police Department. The hearing was called by Senator Adolpho Palacios (D) after the controversial search warrant executed at KUAM's Harmon offices. Criminal Investigation Division agents were searching the offices for a piece of paper signed by now-former chief of police Paul Suba, acknowledging that Police Trainee I John Edwards did not pass his polygraph examination and recommended that it be sent off-island for external review.

By law, in order be hired as a Police Trainee I must submit to and pass a polygraph test.

During today's hearing Senator Ben Pangelinan said someone tried to short circuit the system and abuse their authority.  It was the good, brave officers in the system that would not stand for any cover-up that would not allow this to happen, he senator asserted.
