AG unable to indict cop for '08 shooting death

Guam - The Attorney General's Office had attempted to secure an indictment against a police officer assigned to the Dededo Precinct in connection with the shooting death of Darson Rekemesik. The shooting occurred two years ago when police responded to Rekemesik's home after his mother sought the Guam Police Department's help in removing her son from the residence.
According to news archives, police arrived and found Rekemesik brandishing a knife and a machete, lunging toward the cops. Rekemesik died from two gunshot wounds to the chest.
Two weeks ago the AG's Office presented evidence to a grand jury that on Tuesday returned a no true bill against the police officer - meaning they did not find there was enough evidence to charge the officer with a crime related to the shooting.
