Public entities make cases for FY2011 budget
Guam - The balancing act that is the Government of Guam budgeting process is officially underway, as the Legislative Committee on Appropriations starts working to balance the proposed Fiscal Year 2011 budget. Representatives from the Department of Administration were initially scheduled to appear before the committee this morning but were rescheduled for a later time as a result of today's State of the Judiciary Address. Appearing today were the Guam Public Library System and the Board of Accountancy this afternoon.
Hearings continue for the next several weeks, scheduled to appear later this week include representatives from the PEALS Board, the Guam Contractors Licensing Board, the Department of Labor and the Department of Chamorro Affairs.
The Camacho Administration has pegged the FY2011 budget at $600 million for the General Fund, in addition to $100 million in Special Fund sources and under $30 million in matching federal grants.
