Guam - Along with all 50 states, Guam celebrates May as a time to ramp up efforts in attracting visitors. A proclamation recognizing tourism month was signed today by Lieutenant Governor Mike Cruz. Likewise at today's Guam Visitors Bureau quarterly membership meeting, Deputy General Manager Ernie Galito says many events are planned including a revival, after some 20 years, of the Coconut Festival.

At end of the month, Malito says they will celebrate the heroes of the visitors industry.  "There jobs may be as housekeeper, wait staff or desk clerks - we want to celebrate those who are doing the common thing uncommonly well."
