Guam - Senator Tom Ada stands by a resolution that asks that a $89 million grant request by IT&E by equally split amongst the island's telecom companies the if granted by the feds.  Both Guam governor Felix Camacho of and Governor Ben Fitial of the CNMI expressed disappointment over its passage.

Fitial said it places the region's wellbeing at risk, telling KUAM News, "If, in fact, the grant my be justified in the Marianas because they may be an underserved area then maybe IT&E should go back and modify their grant request, but the Guam Legislature wants to preserve the level playing field here on Guam."

Governor Camacho sides with Fitial on the matters, saying the resolution is damaging.

The grant, if awarded, will go toward telecom improvements here on Guam as well as in Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
