Guam - Younex Enterprises broke ground on in Dededo a $200 million project for the Ukudu Workforce Village to house off-island workers for the military buildup. The company's senior vice-president, Dave Tydingco, says the 18,000-bed facility will include a 24-hour medical clinic, a fire and security post, as well as recreational facilities.

Tydingco says they were able to overcome all challenges in obtaining the more than 5.7 million-square foot piece of property that sit in the Tumon area, telling KUAM News, "We purchased it from the private land owners, we have basically discussed this and gone through the process and we're here today so we're fairly comfortable with that."

Tydingco says the first set of the workforce housing is slated for completion this October, and he says they will continue to add sections as needed.
