Guam - Tuesday, you can say, marks the official start of Decision 2010 as the Guam Election Commission officially begins accepting applications from potential candidates seeking public office. There's a change though - when potential candidates file their candidacy they not only must submit the required police clearance; they must also now submit an FBI clearance to verify the existence or non-existence of a criminal record.

The deadline to file for candidacy is July 6. Aside from the gubernatorial and senatorial races, there will also be elections for Guam's congressional delegate, the Consolidated Commission on Utilities, the Guam Education Policy Board, and the Attorney General.
